My Vegan Shower Routine

Even after my transition I still kept my nonvegan products because I felt like sending them to landfill wouldn't do anyone any good. So some of the products I use in the shower were not vegan until recently. Finally, my shower routine is now 100% vegan.

Pure & Basic Natural Clarifying Shampoo

Pure & Basic, Natural Clarifying Shampoo, Citrus, 12 fl oz (350 ml)
I don't use it every time I take a shower, I just use it when I feel like there's buildup in my hair, which is every 7-15 days. It makes my hair feel really clean and fresh. A lot of people I know who have oily hair swear by this and they use this more frequently.

Skincure Sandawha Camelia Shampoo & Conditioner

Skincure is one of the very few Korean companies that have wide range of products and are 100% vegan. They are confirmed to be cruelty free and vegan by Korea Animal Rights Advocates. I need to show them some love, right? To be fair, I don't have high bars for hair products. My hair is naturally pretty nice, and these keep it that way so I'm satisfied.

Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade & Organic Castile Liquid Soap

Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade & Organic Castile Liquid Soap - (Tea Tree, 32 oz)
I. Love. This. This is on my holy grail list, too. This makes my skin feel so squeaky clean. I use it both on my face and on my body. You can clean everything and anything with this (except the things that shouldn't touch water). Clean yourself, clean your home, clean your food, clean your clothes. I usually use my hands to wash my face and body, but occasionally I'll use loofah or washcloth thingies for more intensive cleaning.

So that's my shower routine. My vegan skincare routine and everyday makeup routine will be up eventually, so look out for that :)

Mini Haul/Unboxing: Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings

  • Better Than Sex mascara (deluxe size)
  • Shadow Insurance (deluxe size)
  • Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer (deluxe size)
  • Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer (deluxe size)
And all of this for $20!
Now of course, I had to wait a while for the delivery, and since Too Faced doesn't do direct international delivery to my country, I had to use another service for that. But it was totally worth it!

I will be throwing away my mascara, there isn't much left of my eye shadow primer. My bronzer has huge pan. So I needed replacements. This kit seemed perfect, and it's vegan-friendly! Better than Sex, Shadow Insurance and Chocolate Soleil are all very hyped products so I am excited.

The box!!

Inside the box.

The pretties!!

You get to choose 2 samples with every order and I got sample cards for Cocoa Powder Foundation and Tinted Beauty Balm. After I finish up the non-vegan ones I already have, I want to try their stuff too, and since having matching shades are very important with foundation and BB it's very nice to be able to try out samples.

And I will most definitely review these!

A Short Review: Sugarkiss by e.l.f. 100 Piece Eyeshadow Set

So I purchased the E.L.F. Cosmetics Sugarkiss 100 Piece Eyeshadow Set. I am not going to swatch them because with my crappy lighting and phone camera, the swatches will be obsolete, if not misleading.

I got this palette mainly because I did want to have some colors out of my comfort zone such as blue, purple, bright pink and green, but didn't want to spend a ton of money on products that I'm not going to use very often. I'd rather occasionally work my way around a not-so-good quality product when I'm in the mood for some green eyelids rather than use crap ton of money on a quality eye shadow that I'll use like, twice a year.

Surprisingly, the shimmer colors are actually good quality. They are pretty pigmented, the texture is smooth, and the finish looks really nice. Keep in mind that eye shadows don't usually crease or come off on my eyelids, my eyeliners crease like crazy but eye shadows stay on me fairly well. If you have oily eyelids you may experience problems with its lasting power, I just can't say for sure. On the other hand, matte colors aren't really pigmented (which I expected from the price) but I can definitely make it work using primers and maybe a wet brush.

Pros:

  • You get 100 colors, 90 grams of product for only around $10.
  • Half of this palette are pretty neutral colors, so you don't just get too many bright colors, you get more colors that are good for daily use.
  • The shimmery colors are really great.
  • You won't have to buy another eye shadow for a good while.

Cons:

  • The matte ones aren't very good quality.
  • Maybe 100 colors, 90 grams of eye shadow is too much? I mean, I only have two eyelids.
  • The container isn't very sturdy. I'm scared that I'll break them.
  • Some of the colors are very similar to each other.
  • The colors lack red and orange. (You can see what color range they have before you buy, so check them out)
Overall I'm really satisfied and I think this is definitely worth its price. :)
